Hiker’s Paradise Eisack Valley
Klausen is located in the heart of the Eisack Valley, which is rightly known as the “Valley of Trails.” With its gentle alpine pastures, dense chestnut forests, and striking Dolomite peaks, the region offers a diverse range of hiking opportunities all year around.
Explore the Kastanienweg Trail (Chestnut Trail), which passes directly by Klausen. It connects Brixen with Bozen and the Etsch Valley, winding through picturesque chestnut groves and vineyards. Especially in autumn, it is a treat when the traditional farmers invite you to enjoy the Törggele season. However, even in spring and summer, the trail captivates with its diverse landscape and stunning views of the Dolomites.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Dolomites, easily accessible from Klausen.
The Adolf-Munkel Trail in Villnöss is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the region and runs directly beneath the impressive Geisler peaks. In Gröden, on the Plose, and in Villnöss, there are numerous other hikes- ranging from easy alpine pasture trails to challenging summit tours.
The Villanderer Alm is one of the most extensive high alpine pastures in Europe, offering gentle meadows, rustic huts, and an impressive panoramic view.
Even in winter, the Eisack Valley Offers Numerous Activities for Nature Lovers.
Whether it is snowshoe hiking, cross-country skiing, or winter hiking across the snow-covered alpine meadows, the region captivates beyond the ski slopes as well. Its untouched nature and peaceful retreats offer a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Whether you are a leisurely hiker or a mountaineer- the Eisack Valley offers the perfect blend of nature, and a unique landscape experience for everyone.
